Am I the only one who sees the same pattern developing whenever these topics come up?

    Add me to the pile.

    AR (6920)
9mm Glock 19 (Mine is old enough to have been proven reliable)

If no one was looking, I'd sneak in a 22 lr pistol in the pack. Yes I know it's cheating. But the first two would keep me alive, and the third would keep me fed.

    New Twist,

Would your long gun choices stay the same if traveling outside your home?

Obviously traveling by auto the long gun has to be compact enough to be able to maneuverer it inside the vehicle for a defensive situation but have you ever considered how you would travel discreetly on foot but still have access?
We are all inclined to judge ourselves by our ideals; others, by their acts.

The beauty of the AR is that it's an easy, tool free upper swap to fit a 10.5" sbr on it and hide it in a tennis raquet bag or small duffel while traveling on foot.
But I think you knew that .

I'd go with my LMT AR for the rifle.

The pistol is hard because it needs to be good for everything. I love my H&K USP and I've got a ton of mags for it...but its HUGE. Not exactly ideal for CCW. My Beretta 96 compact would be a good choice since its big enough for me to shoot well but small enough to conceal...however I dont have much .40 S&W ammo on hand, and only 4 mags for it. I shoot my Beretta 96a1 real well and have a lot of mags, but again I dont keep much .40 on hand...

    It'd be between those 3...

Quality AR and a 12 gauge shotgun is all I would need.
Shotgun ammo has come a long way in performance!
