    First Build!

    My first build...

    Stag 556 16 carbine upper
    Territorial Gunsmith lower
    troy medeival
    trx 10 inch rail
and a bunch of magpul stuff
    eotech 512

i took a picture of my case too... i love this thing! so cool!

    Tell me what you think!

    Purposes of the gun are...
... range, classes, and i guess i have it for home defense... and little for backyard critters.

Any reason for choosing the Stag upper as opposed to BCM/Colt/DD/Centurion/etc.?

What make of BCG is in the upper?

    any thoughts? advice?

i bought most of the parts off of friends... some of the little stuff i bought new like the ambi selector (which i will eventually replace with a BADASS selector), KNS pins, magpul bad lever.. etc.

But i spent less than $1000 on everything.
I think it was a pretty good deal.

    Its a YM BCG
and the stag i bought off of a friend for incredibly cheap. If i was buying new i would have probably gone DD/COLT/BCM...

but i do want to eventually upgrade the barrel. as you can see from the photos... someone put it on a vice or something a couple too many times and messed up the parkerizing. But for a battle/range rifle i dont really care.

I want to build a second upper with a 18'' barrel....

    Shoot it!

Beat it up, see what it can take. See what you like about it, and what you don't.

My .02 is that I'm not crazy about the magpul BUIS. I prefer metal BUIS. I knock my guns around a bit, and I'd break those sights in a minute.

KAC, ,Troy, ARMS, Matech, or GG&G will serve you well. The most popular are the Troy and KAC sights.

I'd say that the MBUS will probably hold up just fine for you. I've seen no reports of MBUS failing when used properly. Make the sights a low priority and use your money to get out there and shoot!

Why I post in Blue: Dark colors are more easily perceived by the cones clustered at the center of your view (like when you read) than simple darkness.

M4 Barrel extension but a standard, non M4 upper; why that combo?

    Could you explain the differences?

I'm still fairly new to black rifles and I'm not sure I know the difference between an M4 and non-m4 upper...

    Thanks

Or Google "AR15 Barrels M4 Feedramps"
