That grip safety was hand made back when Kings and Wilson sold rough cast grip safeties that looked 10X worse than that.

The hard chrome finish doesn't do any favors to an imperfection in fit and finish, and the macro setting on a camera will further magnify anything.

    Looks great to me.

    Looks great to me.

    Looks great to me, too.

Rather than use the macro settings, just have the pic taken from a distance.

In this instance, I opted to use my WC Tactical Elite in 10mm for part of a Close Range Gunfighting class in Liberty Hill, TX. I hit the target and the 10mm blew the target and backing right out of the stand and over the berm. Either that, or a fellow student had a major Sig magazine failure and not being able to fix it, he got motivated and just charged right through the target that had been there. I forget which it was.

I suppose I'm biased, but I believe the Tactical Elite in 10mm is the most perfect handgun on the Earth.

Close pics show how much work really went into a custom pistol from years past. The "beavertail" was made by welding up a stock unit. The long slide was built from two slides, sectioned and welded up. Square triggerguards were typically built by heating the guard up and bending the red-hot metal.

Beautiful gat from one of the masters.
I treat my lawnmower better than I treat my 1911.

Nice Colt, who did the beavertail? Very nice job.

OD*, I don't know who did the beavertail/ignition work, but the work is of high quality. I bought the gun at an auction. It's at the 'smith now getting some more updates. I was happy to find this at a good price, with some work already done. If it were untouched, I don't think I'd have the heart to modify it.
