    d90king,
I call dibs on both of these if you ever decide to get rid of them.

That is a beauty. I am sending you a PM about how well the Ionbond holds up on the aluminum frame.

    Thanks MD!

I messed up when I wrote the description for this one...the frame is done in hard aonodizing with teflon from Springer Precision.

Is the slide Ionbonded? I ask because I am planning on using that finish on a build currently. It will be used on a SS Series 70 repro.

Yep, the slide, and all of the carbon parts are done in IonBond's DLC...great stuff in my opinion.

I've had several 1911's done in DLC and all of them have held up great. I had a Colt Commander blued after customizing several years back...in an 8 hour period of sitting in my IWB while I built a fence I chewed through the bluing...I sent it to IonBond and the stuff held up great for the rest of the time that I owned it...all while riding in my IWB.

I had my current carry 1911 done in DLC 18 months ago when I finished it. It is carried almost daily, has been drawn from my leather IWB countless times, has had the slide cycled countless times, has been through one pistol class and was drawn from kydex during that class probably 150+ times, has roughly 1500 rounds through it...the finish still looks great...no second thoughts on going with IonBond!

DLC will show "wear" on high friction areas such as the slide and frame contact points, but holster wear and corrosion from sweat are non-existant!

    Hope this helps,
    Rob
