The main impetus for work on the above New Agent was to improve on the groove-only sighting system, which is..... well.... not as good as having sights. By quite a margin:

Still makes me curious if there is possible merit in running a slightly larger ridgeside set in the back, then trying to shove a really low profile front sight (basically the smallest that would accept a tritium vial) that is anti-snagged as much as possible... it's still going to be a sub-optimal solution, but I think the biggest limitation on that is just that without a good front reference point, it might as well not have a sight. I'd rather hold-under with a sunken sight but have a better lateral reference.

I think that's a very viable idea. Indeed i might have done something more along those lines but one thing in play here was eyes that are over 50 so I kinda stretched things from "anything would be better" to "has to be quite a bit better".

The groove as a sight is practically useless and I note that in searching for a pic of it on the Colt site, they seem to have dropped it-- good. It was good for nostalgia only.

The latest comp for a .50 GI from Guncrafter Industries.... being as how blowing pin season is coming up again.

Not what I usually do but once in a while it's fun stepping out of the box and into the discoteque over at the asylum.

I saw you with this on the Outdoor Channel the other night, I was amused.

Twenty-five feet. Sounds close until you try to do it as fast as possible.

OK- not a "true" 1911 but pretty close.

Felt a little frisky and purchased something other than a Glock. It's neat! Got some ColoradoHolster.com holster gear for it too. I couldn't find anyone else that had holster options for those.
