    Thanks.

It doesn’t see much holster or trigger time now, but still a favorite.

Seems like a good time for a couple pictures of my two 1911s.

Ed Brown Special Forces, worked over by Alchemy Custom with a new trigger job, a few small parts swapped out, and the magwell was blended to the frame. Hard Hat coating by Dan Severns

Full-house custom from the ground up by Alchemy Custom. Caspian frame/slide, Kart barrel, EGW internals, Wilson magwell, etc. She's my "Stainless Supergrade".

While the CZ grip angle is less severe, more similar to the 1911 than Glock, it's still been a problem.

1st shot draw with 1911 average .9 to 1 second (I'm a lot slower than 20 yrs. ago), while the RMR CZ is a bunch slower. Once I "find the dot", rate of fire isn't much different than the 1911.
I keep telling myself that repetition is the key.

The trade off is the precision at distance with the RMR.

Shot a match last week a 55 yd. stage, 12 targets/24 shots. I had 1-C, 23-A's on the stage- I don't shoot that well with irons.
The key to acquiring the dot is consistency and flat presentation.

As someone with older eyes transitioning to dots we have a tendency to “cast” a bit more than we think we do with Iron sights. If you flatten out that presentation and stop a bit short of full presentation the dot will be there. The RMR also makes things a little harder. Closed emitter sights like the ACRO or those like the Trijicon SRO which mimic tube sights are a bit quicker and easier to acquire since the “tube” provides some additional visual reference for indexing.

The above has helped me get my dot times identical to, or within .10 of my iron sight times at close range.

Have you tried turning off the dot and seeing how much of the time difference is 1911 vs P10 instead of irons vs dot ? They can cut 1911s for dots .....
