An Israeli MK II & 1/2 Hi Power..

I bought this nice HP at a gun show and sent it down the John Norell and had him refinish it with his Moly Resin finish. I just got it back and I have Meprolite Night Sights on order..-----[]

Here you can see how the MK II slide was slotted for the MK III sights.

DAMN YOU, JOHN -- you own all the nicest 1911s, and now you're Bogarting the Highpowers as well!

    Nice Roscoe by the way.

Very pretty. Of course the obvious question is how much you have in the girl?

I like it but what makes it Israeli? Did I not look hard enough at the pics?

I paid $350.00 for it and it cost me $95.00 to have Norell to finish it.. I don't remember what I paid for the night sights, but it was about $75.00, so I would up with a very nice MK III HP just over $500.00, a very reasonable cost........

If you will look at the markings on the front of the left trigger guard, you will see a Star of David and a Hebrew letter. These HPs were made for the Israeli police.

Here is a shot with the night sights intalled...

    Sweet!

I have the same identical Hi-Power and had a Cylinder & Slide hammer/sear/spring kit installed, a flat black teflon finish and a set of Herret cocobolo grips. Also fitted an extended C&S safety.

It is the most accurate 9mm pistol I have ever shot. The trigger is VERY 1911-ish - short and crisp.

Every time someone I know says they want a 9mm 1911...I show them this pistol. Why the Hi-Power is not more popular in America is beyond me.

    Thumbs up

What a beauty, with a little bit of history adding to the cool factor.
