Glock 22 Gen 3 vs Gen 4 - Any Issues?

I've read a ton on this forum and elsewhere regarding the Gen 3 vs Gen 4 but haven't been able to answer this. Are the Gen 4 issues limited to 9mm or in the 40 also? I've seen references to an accuracy improvement in the Gen 4 40's over the Gen 3's - how much improvement is typical? I have a Glock 22 Gen 3 that is about 10 years old with some decent volume rounds through it and am tempted to trade it for a new Gen 4 if accuracy is better - but the Gen 3 has been just about flawless and I don't want to trade into some Gen 4 issues.

Devildawg- i picked up a gen4 22 a couple of weeks ago and so far i have put 500 rounds through it, the first 300 rounds had some weak ejection but the last 200 that i shot on monday were flawless. I have owned a gen3 22 and i do think that the gen4 has some advantages, (perceived less recoil and better grip options) but with that said if your gen3 runs it might not be a bad idea to hold off for a while on the gen4 just to make sure all of the kinks are worked out.

G4 - That's the way I'm leaning; waiting until the dust settles on the Gen 4. But I see the new Gen 4's and know I could have one for $250 after trading and start thinking of the benefits (less recoil, better accuracy, etc)

Devildawg- another way you could go about this would be to buy a gen4 22 and keep your gen 3 as a backup or training gun and then once you determine that your gen4 is good to go, then sell the gen3 if you want to go that route.

Never had to replace any parts on my gen 3 35 and 23. Our model 22 gen 4's have had recoil springs replaced twice and we were sent parts to replace in the trigger bar connection. We were not told why by Glock but that it was an upgrade. Weird since it was done to about 120 guns.

I have an early Gen 4 22 with over 5000 rounds through it without a single malfunction.

My personal mantra is Gen3 for 9mm, Gen 4 for .40. YMMV.

plouffedaddy - are you seeing better accuracy on the Gen 4 vs the Gen 3 - if so how much? Is recoil reduced - 40 recoil isn't an issue for me but I use mine for IDPA so accuracy and recovery time are important.
