Any difference between 147 and 124 +P in OIS reports?

There are a number of each listed in Doc's list, and I've read in some posts that he personally carries 147gr bullets.

I'm wondering if the OIS reports give one or the other an edge that isn't shown the the ballistic gel tests?

I'm transitioning back from .40 to 9mm and need to decide on a round for my M&P 9c. Supplies are dwindling, so this isn't necessarily the best time to make a switch, but I have found both 147gr HST and 124 gr +p HST rounds, both of which are on the "good" list.

So, all else being equal in terms of gel tests, have OIS reports given the lighter +P or the 147 gr rounds an edge in performance?

    Thanks

They both work. The 147 gr HST and Ranger Talon tend to stay together through glass a touch better than the 124 +P versions. On the other hand, using a Gold Dot, the 124 gr +P is a star performer. I would have no problem carrying any recommended load on the list.

Figured that would be the response, but thought it was best to ask.

Thanks for the response and all the great info you share with us.

Also to mention the 147's tend to shoot smoother than the 124 +P loads.

I actually prefer the +P myself, I think it runs the gun a bit more robustly. I have became rather fond of the Gold Dot loading after carrying it for so many years on the job, it has given us VERY good service.

Gold Dot +P 124 seem to have a stellar reputation with the NYPD and they have a large data base.

    Doc-

Sir, in respect to 147gr golden saber (gs9mmc), and the 124+p golden saber bonded (gsb9mmd)...is there a big advantage between the two? If I recall correctly you had previously mentioned that the 147gr was "ok." I ask because I have easy access to the 147gr and the 124gr bonded is a little more scarce.
