It's not something that affects me in day to day life, but I sometimes have problems making out words if there is other noise present as well; TV is on, water running etc, and it is made worse if the person addressing me is facing away from at the same time.

When I do audiometric hearing tests, the doctor can clearly point out which frequencies and decibel levels I don't register, that a person with undamaged hearing would.

Not debilitating yet, but I use ear pro when I can.
This and tinnitus for me. It's from being around machinery and some shooting. The tinnitus is only when it's very quiet.

I always double up with the surefire plugs under my muffs when shooting and matches. Everyone on enos says you shoot better so i do it. I always had mine with me for training to . However, when I did some opfor, we didnt bring any plugs cause 556 blanks are lol. AK blanks however are pretty loud inside a mout town. I couldnt hear shit the rest of the week.

N-acetylcysteine.... a supplement that some claim can help protect the sound registering hairs of the inner ear from becoming damaged by overpressure (i.e. continuous loud noise and blasts)

Still being tested... effects are not completely known or "valid" however it looks promising...

I take it personally because I have Right Sided Unilateral Ménière's disease, which has left me deaf in that ear, and as such.. I take this supplement to help protect my left ear from pressure induced hearing loss... both from the possibility of the disease transitioning to my left ear, and just general noise pollution from everyday life.... not a sure fire bet... but its better than nothing...
