Comparison pics of the Trijicon SRS and EOTech XPS

When I fondled SRS @ IWA2012, I did not notice dot to be any better than my usual "comet" I got from Aimpoint M4S. T1 4MOA works better for me.

Thx, that's what I was afraid of.

For many, the Reflex based optics from Trijicon were the "it" optic for no other reason than their durability. They had one major downside though, low light. They reticle would wash out.

With these, that issue is gone.

With that said, if you have an Aimpoint (and like it), I wouldn't switch. If you are an EOTech user, I would look at this optic. If you don't own an optic, this is a good one to think about IMHO.

I realize that is just MAP pricing for now, but GOOD GOD. With the prices of T1's and M4S' now at *nearly* half of that, I couldnt think of any valid reason to buy an SRS. If they want to compete in an Aimpoint dominated market, they are gonna have to shed some dollars or prove that an SRS is worth two Aimpoint PRO's.

Im willing to bet the people making decisions at trijicon already had that meeting and discussed that very topic. I don't see them trying to dominate the RDS market but I see nothing wrong with them trying to fill a viable niche or more so. Some people will buy it simply because it says trijicon, others will because they want the AA battery and solar supplemental and the ability to drop it off a roof without damage, hell others still will probably buy because it looks cool. Regardless I at the very least find their foray into the RDS market commendable instead of them just deciding its not worth it because of the aim point presence. Plus, I think most people are hesitant to jump on the new thing band wagon and should this optic do well once in consumers hands and develop a sound reputation and notable following opinions will most likely change.

Furthermore, If my guess on the actual street price is close with the included QD mount I dont feel it is THAT over priced. Even if, should the reviews be overwhelmingly positive price becomes a moot point. The shooter will buy what is necessary.

The M4 at its MAP price is about the same as as the SRS. Am not sure why you think it is half the price.

Any idea how much abuse these SRS01 can take, how durable is the solar panel compartment from damage?

Not an appropriate comparison but, have a damaged solar panel on a very cheap calculator and it still works.

When I run out of batteries with the EXPS I'm pretty much left with an expensive paperweight, as I have no room for buis or any irons to begin with on the platform I'm thinking of. I wish RDS sights also had some adjustable aiming points inside the tube that would enable the optic to still be used with a dead power supply.

If you can bet your life on these. If it is just as tough as an AP and Eotech. What you have is a great innovation and hopefully the price comes down within the XPS range or lower, with enhancements in the future.

Like the idea of a no battery required RDS. Will be keeping an eye on these. Maybe they'll also come out in FDE calibrated to M855 to increase sales.

What I would really like is a 1-10x+ Eotech EXPS-3 type optic that when the batteries go dead, I still have a built in reticule I can use, for a M855 platform that has no irons nor room for buis.

Well per Trijicon this is being touted as Acog tough so hopefully that is the case.
