Looking to get a "guard" dog

Just a little update: We enrolled her in an obedience course local here in Shreveport. My wife has been the one handling her at the class. I thought it would be better for her to do this to create a bond that was non existent previously. The decision has turned out to be a great one. At first Athena wanted nothing to do with my wife and would ONLY react to direction from me. She has her final test of obedience next Thursday. Thanks to those of you that chimed in with useful advice and experience. I feel I couldn't have chosen a better breed. GSD's for the win!!!!

Loyal to the death. Tougher then shit. Smart. And super protective.

My wife and I have came to the conclusion that ours has met the limit of people he is ever going to like. Which is about 15... people.

Very pack minded. And you are the leader.

I sure like most dogs but there is none better than the Heeler
