    GAP Crusader just arrived

This was one of their ready to ship builds so it only took a month to get it. I had them thread the barrel and blend a Thruster and thread protector. They also added a rail for the Atlas and coated the Badger rings. Beyond that, it fits the normal specs.

I can't wait to shoot her. Does anyone have any recommendations on factory loads? I know there are quite a few shooting these and am looking for input. I am starting with the obligatory FGMM 168's and 175's.

The scope is the Nightforce F1 mlr2.

Save yourself the trouble and don't even shoot that piece of shit. Send it to me.

Freakin nice rig Hoss. Really nice. Yep, federal gold match good. Nosler custom 168's good and reasonable priced. Hornady match, don't shoot the SUPER PERFORMANCE stuff. Too hot, blows primers and not accurate. But the regular match good stuff. Many folks like Black hills, I have not.

    Good luck.

I own one of the first crusaders GAP made. It's a laser. Stupid accurate. I have heard it called boringly accurate. I load my own 175s with great success. Good luck with you great setup.

I see no point in 168's out of a 308 when it's just as easy to get 175's. The 168's etc don't benefit at all.

Now if you go down to 155 scenar's, the velocity you pick up with an equal BC really shines. You can make a 308 match 190gr 300WM trajectory to 1000yds with 155's if you work at it a bit. The wind isn't dead even, but real close.

I would think that the majority of paid shooters here are LEO's. Although I see the logic in going to 175g bullets, most agency's for whatever reason are still stuck on 168g bullets..

G-7 BC differences for those wondering

    A 155 Berger VLD G-7's at 0.225 BC average
    A 168 Berger BT G-7's at 0.231BC average
    A 175 Berger LR G-7's at 0.264 BCaverage.

    A 155 Sierra PalmaG-7's at 0.214 BC average
    A 168 Sierra Match G-7's at 0.218 BC average
    A 175 Sierra Match G-7's at 0.243 BC average.

Suttle difference make a HUGE difference when throwing bullets long distances. The 155's will do it in favorable conditions, slight cross wind, will reallly push the fold.

I've shot lots and lots and lots of 168 match kings and have no problems making them do what is needed. I Believe enviromental dope is everything when your outside launching rounds.

Orkan almost had me talked into a Surgeon action, gonna go with what I know and do another Stiller TAC action, Krieger#9, Manners stock IA bottom metal, and S&B glass. 26 oal.

My 308 is A/I its sooooooo heavy, my other rifles are Manners reasonable weight to performance ratio for the thump

Pretty your going to poke your eye out with that scope back like that. Did you do the eye releif from the prone?

Good eye on the mounting/eye relief. It was quickly dropped on just to see it all together. I will mount properly when I have 20 minutes free.
