Do retro 3-prong hiders make a ping sound?

Do retro 3-prong hiders make a ping sound when fired, as the Vortex and Blackout do? Either the "duckbill" or later "improved" 3-prong flash hiders.

It's not a big deal for most, but I'm prone to headaches and that noise will get to me in 5 or so rounds.

One reason they ping is they are perfectly symmetrical. If you want to get rid of the ping then slightly shorten one and the tuning fork will not work any more, but the flash hider will.... so I have been told... cut at your own risk ;-)
