    Question Question for Will Brink

    Greetings!

Just curious about these [Mike Geary] ads for that dream abs most people covet. I know that there is NO "magic pill/tablet" or that "perfect one" workout for achieving a six-pack (or eight-pack) abs. I have relatives that are on a similar "program" that they've been wanting me to try and it appears they're having success, but I've always been hesitant about such "fast track programs," especially the paying ones.

Brief history; when I was twenty-four we used to have a program of nutrition and regular exercise with my friends that did turn out very well overall for mind and body. Being the "smallest" (5' 8"@150#, 28W) of the seven of us fellows, I was the only one with an eight-pack and my buddies had their six. Fast forward twenty years later (5' 8"@165#, 32W), I need to get back into being fit to be tried!

So what say you in regards to these ads about abs and such? Thanks for your consideration!

I have a couple of Mike Geary's e-books and I think they are great. It isn't about pills or fads, but about sound nutrition and fitness advice. It is not a "fast-track program", more of a program that dispels a lot of myths out there that have most people wasting a lot of time with mediocre results.

-I know your Q was for Will, just thought I'd add my 2c since I have read his stuff.

There's a lot of programs out there, why have to focused on that one? Two, having abs (which is a function of the muscles developed and level of bodyfat) does not = being fit per se. The two are not directed related. So, don't fixate on abs

I'd consider your large focus. I have not read a lot of his stuff, be Geary seems to take a fairly well rounded balanced approach and feedback generally good. His report here gives some good general advice, and is not "fast track" in nature I find:

Unless your just naturally lean, abdominal definition is mainly just watching your diet.
