    barrel mounted light --A1

I would like to mount a G2 Surefire light in the 6 oclock position on the barrel of my superlight (A1 diameter) upper. I will run a tape switch back to the handguard.

Does anyone know of a mount that will work?

    Thanks

I've seen some mounts that will fit onto the bayo lug that have a rail on them.

Try this link, scroll down the page a little. http://groups.msn.com/TheMarylandAR1...ghtnotes1.msnw

I don't have a light on my AR yet. I was thinking of trying this rig.

SF has had a bolt on model that does what you are talking about. It was two bent pieces that connected with four bolts. Haven't sen one advertised in a while.

The Surefire barrel mount works just fine.

Just be sure to lock-tite the screws and check your zero after you mount it. I would also keep a constant eye on the screws even though mine has stayed tight after a thousand or so rounds. Just use a piece of bicycle interlude to secure the tape switch to the hand guards. I've played around with mine on both AR's & AK's.

The Elzetta mount works very well. It mounts to the FSB and will not scratch (unlike most barrel mounts).

Here is mine with Gonz M2 light and a LaserMax Uni on the optional Elzetta pic rail:
