Funny you say this, I am trying to sell my first AR (cmmg bargin bin/DPMS). When I give buyer fair warning and tell them why I don't like it they say " that is it, sounds ok". However they all want to make payments and that shit aint happening.

I sold my Del-Ton at a slight loss to a local guy who wanted an inexpensive AR plinker. I disclosed why I was selling and it fazed him not. Then, I went and bought so much other stuff that the loss on the Del-Ton became VERY insignificant. Problem solved...

Your typical "consumer" brands like Del-ton, Rock River Arms, Bushmaster, DPMS, Olympic, Stag, ect, are those kinds of manufacturer.

If you want a DECENT weapon, like I said, sell your Del-ton upper and buy a upper from a manufacturer that DOES do the right things, like BCM, Daniel Defense, ect.

Look, heres what I would do if I were you. Keep the lower you have now, its probably decent. Sell your Delton upper and BCG on Gunbroker or on AR15.COM's Equipment Exchange. Get some money back from that original purchase. Then save up some extra cash, and buy this:

And you will need a quality BCG to go with it: http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCM-B...0auto%20mp.htm

I may be coming off as harsh, but trust me, I am doing my best to help you and point you in the right direction.
My first AR was back in 2000 when I bought a 16" Bushmaster, I then got in Highpower and used a DPMS DCM upper a Bushmaster lower and ranked Master in a couple years. I changed barrels at about 8K and went Kreiger. I have not been able to notice any change in performance from the original DPMS setup other than having to enlarge the gas hole because of function problems.

Best accuracy out of the box was 1x7 MT6601 Colt HBAR with nothing but a float tube installed and a 1/2 MOA sight. That rifle would whip even a full blown space gun across the course.

I saw the post about parts being gritty when new but I have never experienced this type before of any of the half dozen or so I have had.

I will probably keep the upper until I have any issues, if I have any, none so far. I have plenty wrapped up in my service rifle and just wanted a utility gun.

Awesome discussions though and great feedback, thanks everyone.

this forum is not the place to discuss "trash" as they call it, AR components. go over to ar15.com and the guys who shoot deltons at the range or in the woods do not compain much about them. my brother loves his delton middy upper and it shoots great. everyone here expects thier carbines to last in everyday firefights, not to be cheap plinking toys. if you plan on maintaining it and not taking it to afganistan, you will probably be fine with it.
Red Rider BB gun - Lever Action
    Daisy Model 10 BB gun
    Crosman CO2 BB Pistol
    Daisy F16 Slingshot

Can you believe people actually list thier guns as a signature?

To the OP, You bought what you bought. Just lube it up as per the "Sticky" and live with it. Shoot it like your life depended on it. Keep track of your rounds and maintenance and if you have problems that you can't correct post it here. Plenty of members that will try and help you as long as you keep it objective.

Most people never shoot their guns with any kind of volume. They also RARELY take them to training.

All AR's work while sitting in the safe.

...and your armchair analysis of ..."everyone here expects their carbines to last in everyday firefights..." is a gross oversimplification, and appears to be deliberately stated. A politician's rhetorical gambit, designed to polarize a conversation and leave out the middle of the bell-curve.

The middle deserves to be heard. The AR-shooting community has more than two population subsets, despite your desire to ignore (or inability to realize...) it.

Putting aside our policies against "baiting/instigating," your intent to trivialize the folks who's lives DO depend upon purpose-made equipment will not to be tolerated.

Leave this thread, and either go back to coloring, or do your homework, starting here: https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=70019

EDIT: In case it's somehow unclear...

If a member of the moderator staff shuts down somebody's brain-droppings, you don't get to quote them and comment on what they said any more.

De facto/du jure, we say STOP, everybody stops the nonsense, and the thread comes back to what it's actually about.

    -Read the OP.
-Respond to the OP in a helpful fashion.....or shut up.

If any analogue of "Well, I have Just One More Thing To Say..." pops into your head, and it has nothing to do with the primary topic....do yourself a favor and don't hit Submit.
