Its a YHM. Which I vowed would never EVER be on my rifle, but it was cheap and it was only meant to be temporary until I get another FSB to chop down

Nothing wrong with that. I'm considering doing something like this with one of my 16" uppers. I usually prefer the FSB, but the Alpha rail mounting system looks like it might be pretty good so I might end up with one over a cut down FSB. I always liked the concept of the TRX extreme rail (and equivalent VTAC), but I dislike the mounting system on them enough to not use them.

    Hey BCM-

Did you ever try your Scout light at 12 o'clock? I have a build that's similar to yours and I've bumped my light and grip combo all over the rail trying to get comfortable. Finally ditched the grip(never like VFG), I ended up bumping my front sight back a couple of notches and put my scout light all the way forward. I'm running an Aimpoint PRO and I can see it in the lower 1/4-1/3 of the optic but it's not too bad.

Just thought I'd throw it out there...

I have tried a few different positions with my lights, it never lasts for more than a day though.

    BCMJ,

Not trying to derail or start something here but can you elaborate on how you felt the Eotech reticle was slowing you down? Are you referring to a preference towards a reticle with less 'clutter'? Thanks,

    Jax

Thats exactly what I mean. Clutter.

I like Eotech, that reticle is EXTREMELY useful, I just didnt prefer it or the cheek weld, it seems like it takes longer to get into position and then find the dot.

    Just preference

I gotcha. Nothing wrong with a little personal preference. Besides the cheek weld issue is there a certain range/position/situation to where you feel like the 65/1 reticle slows you down. Honestly Ive ran Aimpoints for years and have only played with Eotech equipped rifles but have been eyeballing an XPS for awhile now and wanted some input.

    BCM,

What bag is that above? Is that something that you painted or was it sold like that?
