i just couldnt imagin spray painting a 1k plus dollar gun. maybe its just me?
It's easy after the first time you do it. It's a functional additive...and if you treat your rifle like a tool then it's no biggie![]()

im just not a fan of spray paint, lol.
Plus 1 ...i have tried Gunkote (tough as nails but the flat black isn't) and alumahyde (not nearly as tough but better then paint and looks great).Can you detail strip the gun? If you can, I'd do it myself. In my experience, just because you pay somebody else to do it, it is no guaranty they will do a better job then you (and might do it worse!). I gunkoted 2 AK's using nothing more then a heat gun, my oven (the guns would only fit diagonally, but they fit) an oven thermometer (not optional) and my shower stall for a spray booth (i covered the walls with plastic sheet). I am very satisfied with how the guns came out.
