However I don't know if I would pay $400 more for an anodized 6920 when a $6 can of Krylon does the same thing...
    $1239 - $995= $244

In addition to the anodized upper, lower, and receiver extension, you get MBUS, CTR, MOE grip, MOE handguards, RVG, and 2 Pmags. I don't think that's such a bad deal. I was lucky to get LE pricing, which is a difference of $205 (when the price of each is changed). But even w/o that, I'd have bought one of these. YMMV.

My guess is because they have a contract with Magpul for black Pmags and didnt want to spring for new ones.

Why did Colt opt to leave the barrel black?

I paid $1161.02 shipped for mine, the same website was selling the black/fde 6920's for $1057 shipped so I only paid $100 more, way less then sending it somewhere to get anodized after the fact.

No idea why they left the barrel black, but the barrel's aren't anodized are they?

Barrels on the FDE Scars are black.

The reason they left the barrels black is because there is no such thing as FDE parkerizing. If they had wanted to do a lighter color than grey, they would have had to cerakote it.

I was shocked to see one of these at Academy Sports yesterday. Good looking guns.

Colt has finally gotten their ass in gear and started to try to serve the consumer's wishes. First time since the 1980s.
