A 20rd GI mag doesn't protrude as much as the pistol grip. A 20rd PMag only slightly more than the GI. Five and ten round mags are available, but they are of questionable quality and performance.

The only flush 5 rounders I've found thus far are by Promag, are they junk? They cost more than a Pmag.
I use 20 round Colt aluminum mags that came with the rifle when shooting from the bench, any other times I use 30 round PMAGs.
Get you some 20 rd pmags

well since the smart@55 comments got made already I guess I left with having to give hopefully helpful info![]()
bushmaster has (or had) decent 5 round magazines. I have one from a few years ago and have never had an issue with it. Can't speak to current production, mine are pre Remington buy out.
even still, your just talking about shooting from the bench... you might look into one of these.
of course a good quality 20 rounder will work just fine too as has been suggested already a few times in this thread.
Colt makes a quality 9-round magazine. If you want one specifically for shooting off the bench, that's what I'd buy.
like others have said, 20 round GI mags work great on the bench without having to reload too often. I prefer NHMTG mags.
I have a 5rd Bushmaster mag that I use.
I use a 10 rnd mag for the bench. Got it from .44MAG.com.
Has been flawless thru many many rounds. Was about $10 or so, iirc.
