It's been 5 or 6 years since I used one, so honestly I don't remember much about the PIG other than deciding that for that amount of weight and length added, I'd rather have a suppressor mounted.

The most effective thing I've ever tried for pure muzzle control is a Surefire brake, but it's pretty annoying even on a 14.5" barrel. BattleComp is a close 2nd, with less of a fireball issue, but on an 11.5" barrel there was a lot of dust kicked up with prone, rollover/urban prone, etc, and overall was pretty distracting with the concussion/noise.

The Levang is not as "cool guy", but it's cheap, reduces flash on a par with an A2, controls the muzzle better than an A2, moves the blast forward rather than sideways/back, and seems to make my 10.5" upper run better.

MUCH cheaper, too. It works sort of like a Noveske PIG, but is only about the size of an A2.
Ran the Levang on my 7.5" SBR when I had it. It went far in taming the concussion. My SBR is now an 11.5" gun and has an AAC brake on it as a mount for my can. I can tell you that the 7.5" plus the Levang is quite a bit more pleasant to shoot than the 11.5 with the brake.

I run the Levang on an iron sighted carbine now and still like it as my first choice for an AR you're not going to suppress.

I have used the PWS TTO. I had it on a 10.5 SBR and it was flat brutal. It was very effective but i'm not sure the tradeoff was worth it. I have a A2 on my new 11.5 build and honestly it is nice not have to double up on ears and still go home with a headache. I probably won't go back to a brake until I get around to buying a can.
There is a fight, that began before any of us were ever born. It will continue, long after we have retired, moved on, and left this world. It is a fight for the soccer mom next door, your mailman, the guy that bags your groceries, and most importantly, it is a fight for your family. We are in a daily battle not for land, not for resources or colonial controls...we are in a fight for our very way of life

So, I spent quite a bit of time at the range this last weekend.

Had a 14.5 with SF brake, 10.5 with BC and a 308 with BABC. I retract all of my previous comments about the BC on my 10.5 not being that bad. It was pretty ridiculous. My 308 was MUCH queiter than the 10.5. I was shooting in a box with a tin roof which makes things twice as bad as well. I'm tempted to throw a SF brake on the 10.5 to see if it's worse/better. Need a can bad.

Ive started going back to KAC QD flash hiders, it reduces the blast and with a 10" gun I really dont notice the difference in recoil. Still not experiencing any erosion with the NT4 either, its up around 4k rounds now with most through the 10" guns.

If you want to know what it's like to be around one when fired, just have a friend smack you in the ear with a 2x4 and after a couple hundred rounds of shooting, you'll be ringing too. Especially if you're indoors.

I didn't see anyone ask it yet, is a suppressor in the cards? I believe there are a few companies that will warranty their cans on sub 10.3" barrels. But I think if I were going down this road (sub 10") I'd definitely be looking at a 300BLK + 762sdn6.
