G3 clone options/opinions

Absolutely agree, but if his buddy doesn't want to hunt one down, the only current over the counter clone I'd go with is the PTR, BUT, he'd be better off finding one of the Springfields (with the stamped steel receiver).

I never noticed too much of a difference between the weight or balance of a HK-91 (or the century G3/CETME abortions) and the PTR-91.

I like my PTR-91, and I liked it better after I had the paddle release put in.
