    Klimovsk Specialized Ammunition 7.62x39

    Klimovsk Specialized Ammunition Plant
    RUSSIAN 7.62X39 123GR FMJ AMMUNITION
New Russian manufacture 7.62x39 ammunition. Features a 123grn lead core full bi-metal jacketed bullet, lacquer coated steel case and non-corrosive berdan primer.

Does anyone know if this is similar to the Yugo M67 7.62x39 round?
I thought it may be similar cause of the lead core. This may be my ignorant assumption. I was looking for something that was not corrsive. If anyone can advise it would be appricated.

    M67 is FMJ, lead core.
That is bi-metal jacketed so the projectile is already constructed different.

    Is that what it means?

    Or is bi-metal lead+copper?

    Bi-Metal is copper plated steel.

I think something is being lost in translation.

If you go to KSPZ's page on any of their 7.62x39 rounds, you find this:

This says it has a lacquered nickel-plated steel [bimetal] case (гильза).

Whoever said it had a bi-metal bullet was mistaken.

Clearly, in this case, it does not. It means nickel-plated steel.

Well to confuse things even more is it the lead core or the copper plating, or both that makes the bullet yaw on the M67?

Neither. its the short, flat based bullet design that tumbles

Like Jack-O said, neither It's the relationship of the shape of the bullet (and the forces acting on it when in tissue) to the location of the center of gravity (which is related to the density of the lead compared to less-dense steel in M43).
