Here are some pics of a new enhanced carrier I got from LMT a couple of weeks ago. The bolt is a new BCM from G&R Tactical.

Well, some of the pics were in different orientation when I edited and saved them but somehow they didn't post that way. Not that it matters to me but if the current LMT carrier keys are MIM, they have a very smooth machined type of finish. Also, I though LMT used the large spool firing pins. The new LMT pins I just got from G&R mike out at.375". What size are Colt pins and why the different sizes ?

I am currently running the LMT enhanced carrier with a BCM bolt and Vltor A5 on my SBR and have been for a few months. My gun will not reliably cycle without the suppressor when using trash ammo. Suppressed it seems to do fine. With M855, M193 and Hornady TAP it runs fine.
I certainly seemed to notice a difference between the standard carrier and the enhanced.

I didnt take it that way at all, thank you for the direction. I recall that now from Grants thread as well. I have another enhanced carrier by itself and planned on using a FN bolt I had, but it will not fit at all, but thats another thread. Ill extract my BCM BCG and use that bolt and give it a shot. That description of the E-Bolt matches up with my issues yesterday; there was no extraction at all for any of the ammo I tried.

Just got back from the agency range. Holy F*CK it's hot (Orlando 32829). Our massive berms (35ft high) always seem to be in the perfect position to block any breeze that may be blowing. Oh well.
The gen 1 E-carrier ran perfectly in my wife's 14.5" middy with a Colt rifle spring and a Vltor A5H3 buffer. Locked back on empty even using Tula in a shitty and old C-products magazine that i've clipped one hoop of the base of the spring off (It's purely to test for reliability at the range....and is marked accordingly). Holy shit ti shoots smooth! Even with Federal M193 and Federal XM556FBIT3 62gr TBBC.
My BCM did cycle on Tula .223 using a Colt Rifle spring and an A5H4 buffer, but it did fail to lock back on empty about 50% of the time. It did get hung up on the ledge on the front of the bolt carrier...but that's a failure to function (normally) in my book. Ran 100% on all other ammo types.
When I switched either AR to a Brownells aluminum mag with CS spring and MP gen3 follower or Lancer L5 AWM, Tula locked the bolt to the rear no prob.
Shooting Tula through either gun felt like a goddamn cap gun...like it wasn't real...just a loud noise.
Also, the newer E-carrier in my BCM is also still noticeably stiff/tight with the McFarland gas ring. I have a feeling that it will likely lock back on empty using Tula once this happens even with my shitty C-prod test mag. I'm going to downgrade to the Brownells CS Rifle spring (noticeably weaker than the Colt rifle spring) to give me some wiggle room.
I added a few drops of lube to the inside of the newer carrier since it was dry and is still breaking-in.
