It depends on why you want it. Personally I am a collector and shooter. I have an engineering background and personally like having my own reference collection. The SCAR series fills this niche for me. If you just want something different, for your own personal collection/enjoyment, and have your bases covered for your go-to/utility rifles, then yes I say buy a SCAR-L for $1800 and enjoy it.
