I have decided on what I want, now just to get the retailer to call me back. I settled on a Tactical Assault Gear bag. Found one for $99 -- I think.

IMHO, foam fitted hard cases are retarded.

You can only use the case for one gun in one configuration. What if you have 50 guns?

A Pelican case with egg crate foam on both sides is the way to go.

I cut mine to fit "both" of my guns. A little wiggle-room here or there but both fit securely enough. I'm pretty sure even the carryhandle guns will fit in there, and with a touch of trimming the 9mm SBR I have on the way should fit too. One case, "trimmed", that will hold 6 different guns.

I bought the case because I thought I was going to be flying to a class and wanted to be able to take either gun with me.

I don't see anything wrong with having a little fun doing things like figuring out how to get the parts in there that you want.

I should have known you were a foam cutter!

It just isn't practical for me to have fitted cases when I have guns of all shapes and sizes.

I've always thought this one, despite being airsoft, is nice for hauling in a vehicle.

Mine has been back and forth to the range probably 100 times, crammed full of loaded mags, and hasn't fallen apart.

I just looked at the new cases from 5.11 and like them. Similar to the ishot cases in design. They retail for $99 for a M4 sized one, and have several pouches tha t will go with them. I don't think they woule be bad for the money.

For protection, nothing beats a Pelican. But for Range/Tactical use I use this Mollee Gun Bag I had made. The Mollee allows you to configure it the way you want. It will hold a 16" AR. For one thats a little longer the Barrel can stick out the slot on he side.
