I have the Eagle case, and it has mags in the same compartment as the rifle. Not sure what the problem with this would be.

I use those pouches rarely, as I have a shooting bag that I keep all my mags in for regular matches/classes. The only time I might use those pouches is if I know I'm only going to shoot 4 mags worth of ammo, like for sighting in etc., and then I can stick my spotting scope and shoot-n-see targets in the outside pouch.

As much as I would have liked to have bought an I-Shot, I couldn't justify the extra expense at this time. As this is my first EBR (Evil Black Rifle ), I'm finding that Midway and G&R Tactical (Thanks Grant) is getting most of my money for much more important necessities. I mainly needed a case to take it back and forth to the range and enough compartments to keep all my paraphernalia in. This is the one I ended up with:

A different picture showing more detail:

It was inexpensive, lots of compartments and seems well constructed. Of course, I'm not sure how well it will hold up long term but for my intended use, it should last a LONG time. If it doesn't, no big deal as it didn't break the bank to begin with. It stores my M&P 15T with a VG and a 30 round magazine fine. I currently don't have any optics on it but it looks like it should fit just fine in the case with them. Hope this helps.

I should add it may not be as discreet as you would like.

I've never understood the case fetish at all. The foam cutout nuts really make me laugh with their Hollywood professional killer cases. I almost never use a case. When I do, it's whatever el cheapo gun store case that got purchased in the 80s.

To me the minimum amount spent would be the goal, but to each his own.

i have the same one. i don't care for all the straps hanging off, so i've removed as much of them as i can. it is 42" inside, so it's a bit large for my 16" M4 and very tight for my 21" FAL (i have to remove the rubber butt cap for it to fit)

i also have a separate range bag i carry my mags in, but the two pockets will hold 4+ mags each. the bag also has two interior pistol pockets, so you could really stuff so much in this bag that it would weigh 100lbs

Ah, to have someone else hold the mirror to your face. . . .

    I just like organization.

And the chicks dig it. Right?

I never saw the use of a hard case until I went to a LE Carbine course. The cops were storing their M4s in BH! softcases in their trunks. Ever see what a cop keeps in the trunk? Well, it includes the kitchen sink. Anyway, as it happens, frequently used gear winds up on top of infrequently used gear. As these individuals are average beat cops, their M4s are used infrequently. So about 300 lbs of law-enforcement paraphenilia sits on top of their M4 and filled magazines for months on end. Next thing you know, their sights are broken, their receiver extensions are bent, their magazines won't feed, etc.

Since the back of SUV is filled with hundreds of pounds of shifting weight from ammo, armor, emergency kits, and the same kit of my buddies, the hard case is just a step in the right direction for preventative care.

At least that's what I told my ex-wife when I bought the cases.

Nothing wrong with an extra layer of caution, use the hard cases in good health.

A Chief, LEFI, armorer, or Sergeant that lets the above happen needs a smack, though. The cased rifle should be on top of the heap. Troop needs to be told to do it, and held accountable when he doesn't.

Having sarge check his troops life support gear a couple times a month is novel concept to some, too.

Hey! I just barely bought a KAC RAS last year! I'm slowly working my way into the 90s weapon gadgetry!

In 10 more years, I'll have a Comp ML2 in a QRP mount.

Agreed. Stop worrying about "accessorizing!" Buy ammo, mags, votes
