"Varmint" Build

nice rifle I really like how that came out.Im thinking a varmint style gun with a 18" barrel will be my next adventure


looks like it likes the Hornady loads enough to give you a 4 leaf clover

When my funds build back up im gonna do a similar build by feburary. Cant decide what barrel (bcm ss or WC ss bull barrel). My question is why'd you op for a 16" barrel?

My free time (when not playing sports with my sons) is divided between Kayaking/Fly Fishing and Hunting/Shooting. So I only got to go varmint hunting one time with no luck.

I did buy a nice game caller though so hopefully this will improve my luck in 2014! Oh, this gun doesn't look like it did (has been Multicam'd).

Yet I see a MUR, a 16" SS barrel, and a host of other heavy goodies.

Just what was the rifle you scrapped? Was it a cost - benefit equation? It weighed more than the performance it was capable of?

It was an 18" SPR with a heavy contour barrel. By the time you added a can, it was over 24 inches in length.

Cost is of no issue to me (as everything is free). It had an old style Quad rail (that I strongly dislike now), weight, length, fixed stock, etc.
