Excellent results. Kudos to SGammo, things like this just confirm why I send to send my business to them if I can help it.
I wasn't holding my breath on the ZQ3314 since it is training ammo after all but occasionally you do get lucky and find those little gems which is why its good to test these contract overruns that pop up every now and then.
The XM556FBIT3 shows pretty much exactly what Doc tests showed when he posted his results:
5.56 mm Fed 62 gr FBI TBBC JSP (XM556FBIT3) fired from 16" 1/7 barrel AR15 at an ave MV of 2920 fps; 3 shot ave noted below:
BG: Pen = 16.5", NL = 1.5 cm, Max TC 11.5 cm @ 9 cm pen/extending to 17 cm, RD = 0.46", RL = 0.32", RW = 56.6 gr
AG: Pen = 14.6", NL = 0 cm, Max TC 8 cm @ 7 cm pen/extending to 16 cm, RD = 0.40", RL = 0.33", RW = 39.0 gr
Although it has excellent terminal performance Ive heard there are accuracy issues with the reclassified stuff.
Thanks for posting this. It's great to see gel testing on the reclassified stuff.
Any chance you could test some of SGAmmo's recently posted ZQ3313 (reclassified RA556B)?
Thank-you to InfiniteGrim and SGAmmo!

Thanks a lot. Any conclusions you've drawn from these tests, especially regarding the Q3313 vs. the XM556FBIT3? Opinions on expansion, consistency, etc.?
Infinite, great job brother.![]()
Did you get any velocity readings on the 3314 batch?
Don't ask. I did, and it was made clear that I was not to. I climbed right up the ladder until I reached one of the heads of Olin's LE division, where my request was promptly shot down with "They are safe to shoot. Do not continue to pursue it." basically.
What I found? It shoots about 2.5MOA, and chronographs within what you would expect from 5.56 ammunition from a given barrel length, is properly sealed at both ends, and is no-better at going through a cinder-block than M855 or MK318.
