Modified a Vltor CASV to work on a Sig 516 piston AR pistol...
Oh man I love that! What did you have to modify to make it work?
I did similar work with a CASV-EL and an Adams Arms bolt-on carbine-length kit a few years back. IIRC, had to sliiightly open up a channel for the Op Rod's large cylinder and remove material just above where the CASV's locking tabs engage the upper half.
It was a damn ugly gun.

Wow, now there's a jolt to my memory. I had an LWRC piston carbine back in 2006 or so, that received a similar mod. I spent a fair bit of time leaning over my gunsmith's shoulder as he relieved the top gas tube channel of my CAS-V to allow the op rod and piston cup to move freely. Ultimately, that gun was sold, but it was a very functional setup when I had it, and so ugly it was almost cute again. Your pistol definitely falls into the same category - nice job, OTG.
