    Colt 6945 vs DD MK18

Which would you choose, and why? Both are nearly identical in price. Ive done a fair amount of reading on them, obviously both are GTG for duty. Cant seem to find as much info on the Colt.

I like the mono rail on the Colt.... but I also like the longer rail on the DD.
Cant find the weight on the DD... Colt is 6.75 lbs??

Both are quite nice. Keep in mind the Colt has flip up sights and the Mk18 has none. Personally, I like the rail of the the MK18 better, and DD often edges out Colt a little in the fit and finish.

I'd probably take an LMT MRP 10.5" over either of those. It's going to cost you more, but you get the SOPMOD stock, removeable BUIS, and the ability to quick-change barrels (300 AAC Blackout, anyone?). The LMT just feels perfect when I pick it up. The Mk18 feels nearly as good, but lighter (which is good), and I'd change the grip.

I looked at both and picked the Daniel Defense. Part of it is I'm a GA native, and I like supporting the local business. Part of it is I like the looks of the MK18. I'm also not a huge Colt fan. I acknowledge their quality, but don't care for their politics. DD has been consumer friendly from the get-go.

Sopmod stock is easy enough to swap out if that's what you want.

Nice light mount, ASH556. I just ordered another one of those right now for one of my SBRs. I love those mounts.

Thanks man, it's been really solid for the 2 years I've been running it. Nice and tight/close to the gun too!

When I pictured how I wanted a MK18 setup, this is exactly what I had envisioned (albeit adding a VFG). Thanks for posting that, great looking gun

Good points. Fit and finish is great, but functionality and weight are honestly my main conerns. Not that i'd expect any functionality issues with any of them! Agreed the MK18 factory grip would need to go. The MRP is a viable option, but i'm not sure I can justify the extra expense. Weight is a big factor for me, and you mentioned the MRP feels heavier. If anyone has the weights for these 3 rifles that would be awesome.

What made you choose the 6945 over other similar options? Hope it doesnt take that long, I was told by a manufactuer that the weight is only 8-12 weeks.

The wait usually comes from waiting for ATF paperwork, not from the mfr.
