Sionics issues the certificate. I fail to see how their certificate is any more or less valuable.

When Bushmaster offered their course, who recognized it? What was it worth? The same with others. The recognition factor is a nothing that can be quantified.

For example- the only AR15 course that the U.S State Dept. recognizes is the Colt Course. Is that fair to others? Do they have reasons for it? Yes, and they are all political.

I think its great that your offering a fee based service to show interested persons who may not be able to attend a certified instructional course the In's and outs of the a basic AR rifle. I was only asking what accreditation a attendee would receive once the course was completed.

So from your response one would receive a certificate of completion for the course but it would not be recognized by any of the major AR manufacturers.

Basically a personal information/consumption type of course.

    Thanks for the information.

I don't think I would. I've learned everything online and have built 5 ARs. All have come out perfect. I'm not sure a class would teach me anything. Professor YouTube is where its at today.

I think there is always something new to learn for everyone, some may even need that insight more than they realize..

My agency will probably be sending me and at least one other officer to an armorer's course within the next year. I expect to have at least some input into which class it will be, and this sounds like a great option. We could travel, but we may be able to host as well. Anyone interested in coming to western Kentucky?

No AR manufacturer is going to recognize another AR manufacturers cert anyway so it really doesn't matter.

    LOL, this is good.

I watched this guy (on YouTube) talk about how to shoot a pistol and so I am good now (no further training needed).

No doubt! I've watched a ton of retarded shit on reloading on Youtube. Redneck brass annealing, etc.

You have attend an armorers class just so you could sort through the flotsam and jetsam of youtube to pick out legit info.
