If you could do one in the Northern VA area I know many of us here would sign up for it. Very interested.

Dean Caputo puts on an excellent two-day course open to non-LEs. Several of the Clan attended one between two EAG Carbine Operator Classes. His big selling point was that the class was about keeping the gun running, not disassembling an A2 rear sight.

IG: You might do a thread search for forum members' comments on this class.

Red Rider BB gun - Lever Action
    Daisy Model 10 BB gun
    Crosman CO2 BB Pistol
    Daisy F16 Slingshot
    McDonalds Straw and spitballs

Can you believe people actually list thier guns as a signature?

I should have had a course before I built half a dozen stupid ones, learned from my mistakes and went a different direction.

I never did that at all when it came to uppers. I watched several builds by a couple of trained guys, including Gunz, before I went hands on.

What do you think is least important?

All of this is leading up to something. It's my plan to start offering a 2 day course to anyone who wants to attend. Unlike most courses that restrict civilians, it's my opinion that they are the ones spending the money and driving the market, and they are the ones who probably need it most.

I will be working with a variety of entities and groups in order to make this work. It is my goal to educate and help those who truly want to learn about the AR and to ensure that they have a functional weapon that will work when needed.

I am also willing to travel to most destinations as long as they are reasonably reachable by air and ground transportation.

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO COMMENT ASK QUESTIONS, PROVIDE INPUT, ETC.....
I think this is a great idea and one that the training industry NEEDS. I have no doubt that this could become a great business venture.

What type of facilities would you need? Would there be a need for any live fire (for problem solving / testing etc)? What size classes are you thinking? What type of tools would be required to attend?

I always like when people try and tell other people what they need.

There are people that don't think you need a gun.

I'd jump on this in a heartbeat provided the cost was reasonable and I didn't have to drive to far.

I've built lowers without any problems but even though I have the technical skills to to build an upper, I've been reluctant to do so without some expert guidance.

I really hope this materializes into reality

IG this is a great idea. I would definitely attend if we could get enough people in Texas. I am in Houston but would drive to Dallas\Ft Worth, Austin or San Antonio.
