This in on a Daniel Defense M4V3 16" mid length gas system. Should the gas port be visible down the barrel?

Yes it should.
It's better to find it down the barrel than any other part of the rifle.

Not sure if it should be bothering me but I sure as hell cant see the hole!
It's a very tiny hole.

But what then is capital punishment but the most premeditated of murders, to which no criminal's deed, however calculated it may be, can be compared? - Albert Camus
If the action cycles properly then its there.
We are all inclined to judge ourselves by our ideals; others, by their acts.
See my sig line if you're looking for your gas port.

Your eyes must be pretty good to see a hole just a couple hundreds of an inch, i've never been able to clearly see mine from just looking down the barrel. Maybe i should clean my barrels more...
If it cycles then dont worry about it.
I can think of so many jokes to go along with this.

Really it would depend on the elevation. It might be visible from up the barrel. Might not be visible at all. Lot of factors to consider here.
