    Daniel Defense V1 vs V5

I have been stuck between these two for sometime now, the Con's of each.

Idea with V1 would be to have front irons co witness with a red dot of some sort. With training I would THINK if my red dot went down I could still be accurate using what would be the "center" of the down red dot with the front. Still at best would be estimating center of the down red dot.

The new v5 is lighter than my old V5 with eotech512.
Could still have fixed front on the quad rail, no? Something like troy's front sight?

How about one of DD's fixed front sights? They are excellent IMHO and what I run on my V7. I've used my RDS as a big ghost ring and accuracy really suffers unless you are close. A matech folding read is cheap insurance and works well.

    I'm totally confused.

The DD M4V1 includes a rear BUIS. Why wouldn't you actually use it?

You can have fixed on the v5, as far as co-witnessing that would be on you optic mount. Many here do the same thing with their optic and irons as far a v1 vs v5 go in the sight world the v1 will have them and v5 you gotta buy them separate, but you can achieve a similar sight picture with either one.

My first was a V5...I love it. Between the two, you can't go wrong.
