    Good point, but my question still holds-I'm going to guess he isn't retired from NYPD

    Also, this is good fodder for the next time some asshole tells me you can't beat a drawn gun. Sure you can, especially if the person holding it doesn't think you're going to fight.

    I'd say it is very likely he is a retired NYPD cop.

    Just a side observation. I've always felt that criminal conspiracy charges should be levied against anyone who doesn't give up their cohorts in the crime. You want to be a hero on the street? Fine. You serve your buddies sentences for them.
