    Eotech oops...

One of my friends bought an Eotech 512 new about 9 months ago, he runs it on a 5.56 sbr. Well monday he went out to the range and fired about 60 rounds, sat it down on his truck bed, and then tried some m855 to see how they shoot. His first shot was about 10 inches low and so he thought he pulled it pretty bad and so he fired another shot and still almost a foot low. WTF right? As he looked down to inspect his rifle he heard a clinking noise and as he looked into his eotech and saw this.

Eotech is taking care of it right now but it is interesting.

Anything mechanical can fail. Let us know how they fix/replace it.

Very true. I am just suprised that it went tits up under very low stress. I've seen eotech's in the past take quite some abuse.

And i will keep everyone updated, from what i've experienced in the past L3 takes care of their customers.

Holy s#$t! Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe thats the piece that has the "hologram" etched all over it. The laser projects through it right? Damn shame. Curious to see how L3 handles this.

In for this....wonder why it happen and how long it takes for them to fix it.

Is aimpoint just as good/better than eotech? (not trying to start a vs thread/bashing thread)

Thats something I never saw. Just a fluke most likely, but as long as they fix it, it should be fine. I had my dept EoTechs fixed after a few annoying problems pooped up, and the damn things have worked fine ever since.

Like a previous post said: anything mechanical can break, yes even Aimponts. Just not as much.

Eotechs are issued to my SWAT team, I've seen the same thing on 2 different units.

I use Aimpoints, and a TR24, and as soon as SWFA ships it their 1-6.
