    True but some brands/designs fail a lot more than others. Eotech is one of those brands. When it comes back sell it and get something better.

    That's crazy, just got back from being deployed to afghan and mine is perfect it hardly has any finish on it and was on a full auto rifle for a year so I dunno. Exps 3-2. Still gonna use it just looks all gnarley, we even put it on a 240b for a while. I don't understand.

    Maybe the OP's optic was made on a Friday afternoon?

    As far as I know, the internals of the 500 series and the XPS/exp series are the same. It's just a different battery housing design

    Update. So the broken 512 left for Eotech on 9-4-12, A brand new in the box 512 showed up on the door 9-18-12. Pretty good turnaround and kudos to L3 and Eotech!
