I am new to the AR platform, but as I have stated, I have been an avid hunter and shooter for 30 + years. I am fully confident in my sighting and shooting abilities. I own many rifles and shotguns. Never had this kind of customer service from other manufacturers. I am not happy with this setup and BCM just blows me off. I tried to contact them again with no response at all. Too bad because I spend a lot of money on weapons and related items. I just chalk this up a lesson learned. Don't do business with them again.

I think 29 clicks is more than a few, and is indicative of a problem in manufacturing.

I know this not to be BCM's attitude towards customers. They'd much rather replace the upper completely than have someone with little AR experience bad mouthing the company.

I mean... BCM is ridiculous about not letting flawed products get out the door because they want to protect the quality reputation.

29 clicks is outside of the +/- spec of a rifle. I think it's 8 or 9. So if it's indeed that far off, It should be fixed....

That's the part I don't understand. As much effort ad they go to, to be be first rate, this seems really unusual.

Take the Magpul off, loosen the mount more, be sure no debris is in the rail. Set it back in rail and push it forward in the groove. then tighten the screw and try again.

I appreciate that and I will try to remount, and I am not here as a "new shooter" trying to bad mouth a manufacturer that you all have had such good experiences with. I can only relate MY experience. When I originally e-mailed BCM they responded right away and told me that "a few clicks either way was normal enjoy your new rifle". When I e-mailed them again and told them it was 29 clicks and not a few, I heard nothing in return. No attempt what so ever to give me an idea of where to go from here. I know how to shoot. When I got the DPMS I had so much fun with it I thought I should go out and get the best rifle I could, and that led me here and to BCM. Maybe the Magpul is no good, it is plastic, I didn't get a chance to shoot this past weekend but I will this weekend for sure. I don't have another rear sight on hand so I'll have to pick one up before I go. This however, is info I should have heard from BCM when I first contacted them. You guys can blow me off as "new to the platform" but again, I am not new to shooting. I am 54 years old own many quality firearms and have been shooting and hunting my entire life. My experience is that BCM has been less than helpful considering the amount of money I spent on this upper and related items. I had a problem with a S&W pistol and when I contacted them there was a self addressed and postmarked box on my door in two days. No questions asked. They fixed the pistol and I had it back in less than two weeks. THAT is good customer service.

We understand that you're not a new shooter. It's still a possibility that the MBUS isn't right.

Is there any way you can pop the MBUS off, set the upper down so you're seeing it from the back... then put a ruler (or something straight) flat on the top of the upper to achieve a horizontal baseline. Then look to see if the FSB appears to be leaning?

I would think that in that setting a 29 click issue would be visible to the naked eye. If nothing else, you can check to see if the front sight post appears to be centered up over the back of the receiver rail. 29 clicks should scream out at you.

Thank you Markm. I will try that, I did kind of give it a once over and could see no obvious problems but I will look a little deeper. I think your idea sounds good. I will for sure get a new rear sight this week as I had every intention of replacing it anyway. It was the only one I had on hand and I was exited to get out and shoot it. Again I don't want to bad mouth the gun. I think with the heavy trigger in that LPK it shot great. I just don't like the sight pictue of seeing the peep so far over to the left. Thanks again sir. I hope to report that all is well in Sullivanville.

There's no question that if it is indeed not right, it's not acceptable. And being able to contact Bravo and say... "Hey... I can see with the naked eye this isn't right" Will probably get you more help.

    Take the MBUS off.
Place the upper upside down on a table resting on the ears of the FSB and the back of the upper receiver.
Does it wobble? If so the FSB is likely canted.
It does not wobble? Buy a DD BUIS.

I first want to thank you again Markm. I tried the string thing, got nothing there, so I set the gun on a level surface and took a small level and leveled the top of the reciever. Then I checked the level on the fSP....Perfect. Not sure if that means anything or not. It is difficult to get a good read on the Magpul with the knob on the side and all so I can't tell by looking if there is a problem there. I think though, that is the place to start and I had intended on replacing it anyway,I just don't know if I can find a quality sight locally. Would you have any recomendations as to names I should look for or stay away from?
