    Bass Pro shops now carries Vortex for anyone interested. Unfortunately they didn't have a 1x4 nor a SPARC.

    I looked through a $99 Bushnell 1x4 and that was not promising at all. I hope the Vortex looks a lot better.
    Thanks for the heads up on Bass Pro.

    Walmart has Glow in the dark pain in the models (cars, planes, etc) section. About $5, but it will last forever, since you only need a dab on the front site post.

    My dad had a Rambler as his first car. Sorry, that's all I have to contribute to that part of the conversation.

    Vortex is a good company and for an inexpensive unit I would go with one of their offerings. I would personally just save up $360 for a new Aimpoint Pro. I think its the best buy out there for sure.

    Buy once, cry once, I agree with the other poster to stick with irons until you can get a good optic.
