The aluminum lower is well done and fully keeps the lines of the original Swiss steel lower (unlike the US 551A1). I personally view this as a logical step for SIG. Much easier to produce.
$5k is not that terrible all things considered.
I have rails on ALL my SIG guns, B&T makes them.
Good to know about the dedicated 552-553 conversion kit, really helps reinforce my decision.
Just not crazy about the new Swiss SIG. I'm glad the option exists, but I'm glad I don't need it. So I'm happy in nostalgia land, after all the SIGs I have were the ones I was drooling over when I was 12 reading about them.
