According to his Facebook page, a small "nudge" email was sent to ATF -but I'm sure they'll just get here when they get here.
Patience is not easy in our "get what you want now" culture, but when importing Swiss firearms, it will be a must.

I think it is diopter. But not sure.

Look to be non-existent on Gunbroker. I would give Ratworx, Osage county guns, and other GB 553 vendors a call and see what they have.

These are the better versions. They have real Tritium in the diopters instead of the luminous paint the Sig imports had.

I went back and forth on the rail or diopter sights. I got the railed version from Ratworx for 2699 and they sold me 40 mags at 25 bucks per... so that sort of made up my mind there.

I like the look of the diopter guns better, but was concerned about adding a scope rail... I also figure I can just add a diopter to the rail and add the flip up front sight on the gas block, if I want to go that route.

If a large number of people are willing to kill you for saying something, then it probably really needs to be said. .

My 551s and and one 552 have diopters. Another 552 and 553 have rails. I greatly prefer the rail if optics will be used. The diopters are sweet though. I was easily hitting torso sized reactive targets out to about 400 with the irons on my 552 at a recent shoot. I do prefer an Aimpoint over irons and find the diopters of the 55x to overly clutter my view through an Aimpoint. YMMV.

I really like mine now that the conversion's been completed. Wish I'd bought a few more magazines before they became $75 or more.

K, I just I discovered that the SG 553 pistol was imported and I'm talking myself into getting one.

Have any of you suppressed one before? I may just leave the factory flash hider on when I SBR it but I do love suppressed rifles. Seems like some cans like my surefire Socoms wouldn't work due to the protruding gas valve?
