I suggest you buy a rail model now while they are selling for $2700 on GB. I greatly prefer the rail model Swiss 55x over diopter models, as they better lend themselves to modern optic mounting. I find the view through a red dot mounted to a diopter model to be very cluttered due to the large size of the diopter sights.

I've been looking for diopters on GB for a while. Ratworx said they've been out for about 3 months, and will not be getting anymore.

I didn't intend to run a RDS on it, but if it has a rail, I might as well. (comma splice?)

I hear you. But owning both variants in 551s, 552s, and 553 I greatly prefer the rail.
