Swiss SIG 553 pistols have hit the US market

I don't know anyone at MM and don't want to suggest anything about the honesty of anyone, but when a "retail seller" informs you that only they are getting "special Swiss SIGs from SAN" and everyone else is getting "junker throw togethers" from exactly the same source, you may want to consider the veracity of that statement.

I'm assuming Swiss SAN isn't offering a "factory seconds" option.

They were all made by SAN so all should be the same. Mine has been flawless but I've had a long familiarity with the 55x system. The quality of the 553 seems to be on par with my Swiss 551.

While doing a 922(r) conversion on the 553, a new non-adjustable stock from a 522 was installed and it locked up tight and would venture to say "as tight" as a Swiss stock.
By no means is it as well made or as durable as the Swiss stocks. Also I'm not yet certain that the U.S. Sig Sauer stocks are actually made in the U.S. or not. The grips are a big fat NO. Mine was installed as compliance part #7 so not really a factor -the 522 was purchased for a bumping trial only..

No. Only the 8.9 inch ones. JDI listed some of the 553LB complete recievers on their website but, as of yet, have been unable to import them. I've not seen any of the barrels offered separately. It took me forever to find a 551LB.
