Swiss SIG 553 pistols have hit the US market

From what I understand, they will only import a few hundred units total. Now if they had structured it, say, bring in X amount per year- fine but that's not what they are doing from the sound of it. I can imagine K-Var, Steyr, or B&T would love to take over as an importer for them once whatever agreements expire.

The 550s and 551 LBs were supposed to be delivered by SAN in January/February of 2018, but were actually delivered in August. I don't think SAN has the present capability of exporting the numbers you are thinking about.

LOLOLOLOL. The folks behind B&T USA used to be Armati, or, one of three companies that used to import SIG/SAN 553's. Seems to be if they were doing a good job, they'd be importing what JDI is.

Here's my second SigSauer imported 553, set up on a virgin steel lower with SB brace with trimmed SB tube and SwissArms M4 adapter. The suppressor is a direct thread Sig SRD556 and I'm running a four position gas regulator set to "0.9" for suppressed duty. Ammo is Lake City XM193 (full power 5.56). Should note that the diopters with an Aimpoint mounted on a B&T rail is sub-optimal. Very busy sight picture....I think I'll move the rail to another gun and Aimpoint as well.



The heat of several mags through the gun definitely gave the can a nice new finish.

JDI isn't importing anymore 550's or 551's, only 553's.

Agree re: sight picture with aimpoint and diopters. When it comes to the 55x, I leave my diopter guns as iron sight only and my railed guns get optics. I prefer the rail receiver.

Oh, and nice FNC cameo in the last photo.

JDI isn't importing anymore 550's or 551's, only 553's.

They have 550 Blum editions available + additional 550 uppers. They (may) have red special editions available as well - if inventory is still available.
