I just ordered a X300 Ultra here an hour ago for $214.95 delivered. I called first to confirm if it was in stock, the sales rep said it was.

4-750 lumens can easily be had if you already own an M600C. With an M300A, I think right now for a single-mode (high only) you are limited to around 250 OTF lumens.

Adapter heads exist to allow you to run a 6P module of your choice. Those come in flavors from 60 lumens to 1600 lumens, and have up/down sides accordingly.

The Scouts are getting a bump. The m300b is going to be 200 lumens and the m600 is getting a bump from 200 to 250.

But, there will be an M600u as well as just the "ultra-type" head for the m600 that has an output of 500 lumens.

By all accounts, even in small structures, 500 lumens really has no downside and is not going to blind the shooter as many used to think.

For now, the Fury Tactical or EAG edition by BCM is a great light. The Tactical has a crenelated bezel while the EAG does not. Both have a click on/off tailcap as well as single output.

The benefit of the Fury is of course the price. The benefit of the x300 is of course the ability to mount it to your handgun.

Personally, I'm waiting on the 500 lumen scout and the "ultra-type" head for my mini scout. I'd love to see a higher white and IR output for the 620v, but I hear it's not possible due to size constraints.

Proven combat techniques may not be flashy and may require a bit more physical effort on the part of the shooter. Further, they may not win competition matches, but they will help ensure your survival in a shooting or gunfight on the street. ~ Paul Howe

How are they doing this? What LED is Surefire using for the 250 lumen Scout? What about the 500 lumen?

The reason I ask, is because I would like to know what kind of drain is going to be put on the batteries. For my personal use, the 250 lumen module may be a better decision than the 500 lumen. I say this after owning and then selling an M300A. The run-time was NOWHERE NEAR! what they claimed...until I read the small print and saw (* Tactical runtime denotes the time it takes the output to fall below 50 lumens). For example, the E2DL is rated at 2.0 Hours, yet its actual regulated run-time is 1.5 hours.

Just an observation. Many people won't care about the run-time, but for those who do, keep this in mind. Still, 500 lumens through Surefire's TIR? Insane. I might buy regardless and just stock up on batteries!
