Moving this thread to the front page so that more folks might become aware of Chuck's ordeal. Let us all send positive energy his way.

    Stay the course, Chief.

If you spend much time around the guys who really, really know their craft, and who truly live this stuff, you tend to find that they are very soft-spoken and modest -- almost to the extreme. To my mind, that is a model worthy of emulation

Thought of you this morning Chief. Had a huge cup of steaming coffee while sitting on the desk in front of me were a few handguns guns and a Surefire light. No Yoplait though.

Thinking of you brother. Hope to see the 'Screaming Barry Pepper' again on here very soon.

Chuck passed away at 2AM this morning in his sleep. He is in heaven now where he surely belongs.

Last night I prayed to GOD that he either take Chuck in his sleep or remove the tumor from his body. I simply asked that his suffering and suffering of his family and friends to end.

Chuck has been a tremendous resource and mentor for me in so many ways that I cannot count. Always the "problem solver" and teaching me to take the high road when dealing with people. His ability to reason with "difficult" people was like nothing I had ever seen. His kindness and honesty was unmatched by anyone I have met in my my life to date.

Heaven has a new and AWESOME member that will serve GOD well. GOD BLESS you my friend.

My heart is hurting and heavy right now. At least Chuck passed quietly in his sleep and is no longer suffering. Chuck touched all of us in may ways and was someone who we should all model our own lives by in some way. Right now it is hard to put into words how I feel for Chuck's family but I hope that they all handle this as best as they can and I hope that they know that there are literally hundreds of people that are thinking and or praying for them. The support that this community has given Chuck and his family is unwavering and I know that it will continue.
    Rest in peace Army Chief.
