When my dad's prostate cancer recurred, his doctors said the only option was to hit it with the maximum dose of radiation and hope for the best (which doesn't sound too different from your radiation protocol). They basically burned his ass to a cinder.
I don't know which would be worse. Getting flamed on the front end or the rear end. I hope I never have to learn through first hand experience.
On the plus side, I just had lunch with my dad today (he'll be 87 next year). It's been over ten years since his cancer recurred and over twenty since he was first diagnosed.
Keep hangin' tough.
