    Lowers to avoid

I'm looking to buy a stripped lower and have researched many that seem to be good to go.
Searched around this forum and can't find many that should be avoided.
Can ya'll help me out on the ones I should stay away from?

The only ones I'd make a real effort to stay away from are the early cast Olympic Arms ones.

Yup, no real reason to buy one of those unless you are stuck in an AWB state.

With as many solid receivers are there are on the market, and the prices being so low, I can't figure out why someone would want to save $10 or so on a lower.

A better question would be, which lower should I buy, not, "which lowers to avoid."

There is no reason in this day and age to get anything other than a Colt lower, since Grant is selling stripped Colt lowers, as well as complete Colt lowers.

If, for some odd reason, you refuse to buy a Colt lower, it seems to me that LMT, NRW, or BCM would be good options as well.

I wish anyone had a Colt in stock. (including Grant) That said, he does have Rainier lowers in stock for half the price of a Colt. I haven't seen a bad word yet about Rainier lowers.

Why? Is $265 for a stripped forged lower, or $515 suddenly the marker which is set for a quality lower? I'll take BCM, RA, Noveske or plenty of others in place of that.

I don't doubt that Grant is charging a fair price based off what he is having to pay.

I would avoid any composite/ polymer/ carbon lowers like the plague. Most forged are gtg, however I personally have seen some spec problems with a rock river and a dpms lower.
